people distrust our institutions.  Thinking of even "little" things like Trump saying the National Weather Service was lying about the path of a hurricane because it didn't match his misinformation.  Creating a culture of non-stop lies and misinformation, where people don't even trust the weather service to warn about deadly situations so they can take actions to save their lives, is very dangerous for our country and makes all of us less safe.

Science denial has and will continue to make my life worse - from COVID (more below) to climate change (reversing environmental regulations, etc.).

When I developed asthma a few years ago, I completely shrugged it off as no big deal - inconvenient, but I just take medicine every day to keep it under control.  My thought was, lots of people have asthma, so what's the big deal?

Well, now, since the President refused to take COVID seriously and encourage the most basic actions like distancing and make wearing, and that has played a major role in the virus running wild through the US, I have to seriously limit human interaction since I'm high risk.  If we had the virus more under control, it would be a lot less risky every time I walk out the door and I could do it a lot more often.  Isolating sucks - a lot.  (The same goes for my parents who are in their 70s and therefore high risk.)

I also now have to worry about healthcare given my pre-existing condition and the potential of the new Supreme Court justices striking down Obamacare with no back-up plan from Trump and the GOP.

And overall I feel extremely lucky that my life is good because I am employed with a decent income, can work from home, etc. and am much better off than millions and millions of other Americans.  But even with the great position I'm in, there are definitely several aspects of my life that are quite a bit worse as a direct result of Trump's actions (or inactions).
